Very nice first edition hardcover. Oxford blue cloth with gilt text on the spine. 696 pp. Top edge is blue. Dust jacket is tan with brown text.
This copy is the first American edition printed in the UK. It has Oxford (not Oxford & New York) on the title page but on the back cover it has New York as the address for Oxford University Press.
Book is in great condition. "03 67" is written inside the front cover in pencil, but no other writing. Pages are bright while the edges are slightly browned. Top edge of pages is dark blue, matching the cloth binding of the covers. The dust jacket has a light stains all over and is very browned on the spine, but less so on the front and back. The jacket has a tear a tear in the front, with a few small holes and chinks in other places. Please see photos. Always happy to answer questions, and always open to offers.
